JL recorded “Alon” in 2024, before auditioning for Universe League. Universal Records Philippines released it on June 6, 2025 as his debut solo single. Its emotional image of being pulled under by uncertain love also gave the song a fitting second life as the local theme for GMA’s Tagalog-dubbed broadcast of Lovely Runner and the Viu Original series Love, Siargao, starring multimedia sweetheart Nadine Lustre and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards.
